Jamajka: w 2016 kolejna podwyżka kwoty wolnej. 8500 osób przestanie płacić PIT

1 stycznia 2015 kwota wolna od podatku na Jamajce wzrosła z J$507 312 do J$557 232 (ok. 19 tys. zł). Z dniem 1 stycznia 2016 kwota wolna od podatku wzrośnie ponownie, tym razem do poziomu J$592 800 (20 200 zł). Dzięki tej zmianie około 8500 osób na Jamajce przestanie płacić podatek dochodowy.

Wrastają natomiast podatki na papierosy, benzynę i elektryczność.

TAX MEASURES

Increase SCT on cigarettes from $10.50 per stick to $12.00 : Yield $488 million

Replacement of 1.0 per cent petroleum cess on the SCT of $2 per litre: $1.8 billion

Re-imposition of GCT at the standard rate on electricity applicable to residential customer usage above 350kwh per month. Will affect four per cent of residential customers: $807 million

Increase in the specific SCT on petrol by $7:00 per litre: $6.4 billion

Environmental levy of 0.5 percent on the CIF of all goods imported: $962 million

Rationalization of outdated fees, fines and penalties, trade and business license fees: $500 million

Reduction of imported duties on horses from 40 per cent to five per cent: -$644 million

Increase in General Personal Income Tax Threshold to $592,800
