Federal prosecutors must divulge the “identities of any unnamed co-conspirators” that they plan on referencing at Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex trafficking trial in Manhattan, a judge ruled Friday.

The order was to ensure Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged madam is able to “adequately prepare her defenses,” Judge Allison Nathan wrote.

Prosecutors must also “disclose all co-conspirator statements it intends to offer at trial,” Nathan ruled, arguing the government’s claim that the revelation would cause ‘potential danger to co-conspirators’ or risk ‘compromising continuing investigations,’” was bogus.

“The Government provides no explanation for this purported harm and none is apparent to the Court,” Nathan wrote. “Thus, the Court finds that this concern alone does not outweigh the risk of surprise to the Defendant in this case or the need for the parties to litigate co-conspirator issues in advance of trial to ensure the absence of delay.”

Maxwell, 59, had requested that prosecutors name the two co-conspirators described in their indictment to avoid being ambushed at her trial, which is set to begin on Nov. 29.

The British socialite, who has been held without bail since her arrest in July of last year, is accused of procuring underage girls for multi-millionaire Epstein to abuse in the 1990s and early 2000s. She’s pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Maxwell is also facing separate perjury charges related to allegedly lying in a deposition in a civil case filed by Virginia Giuffre, who has accused Epstein pal Prince Andrew of sexual abuse.

Epstein was previously arrested and charged with sex crimes by the same prosecutor’s office as Maxwell, but killed himself in a Manhattan jail cell before he stood trial.

- The Duke of York is a “person of interest” in connection with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, both of whom allegedly ran a child predatory ring.

- In a civil complaint against Prince Andrew, the victim says he sexually abused her at the age of 17 in London home and in the U.S. on three occasions.

Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, is a “person of interest” in connection with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, both of whom allegedly trafficked and sexually abused girls and women.

The Guardian reports that Epstein’s friendship with Andrew is part of an investigation into possible co-conspirators, but the duke’s legal team has declined to comment.

Lawyer Mark Stephens told the Guardian that the phrase “person of interest,” which is a term indicating the person has not been arrested or formally accused of any crime, could be used to add pressure on the duke to cooperate.

“Person of interest” has no legal bearing.

“Normally you would say ‘we believe he has information which would assist our inquiries’, or ‘assisting the law enforcement with their inquiries’, or ‘we only see him as a witness but he has important evidence to give.’ All of these are formulations and phrases which are restricted to someone in the capacity of a witness,” said Stephens.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre filed a civil complaint last week against Andrew in Manhattan federal court. Giuffre, who was abused by Epstein, says Andrew sexually abused her at the age of 17 at Maxwell’s London home and in the U.S. on three occasions, according to The Guardian.

Andrew has denied the allegations.

Prosecutors have previously asked Andrew to cooperate during investigations into Epstein and his associates’ alleged trafficking and abuse. However, these prosecutors say Andrew has rejected cooperation and declined requests to schedule an interview, according to The Guardian.

Andrew’s lawyers say this is not the case.

“The Duke of York has on at least three occasions this year offered his assistance as a witness to the US Department of Justice,” the duke's lawyers said in a statement in June last year.

The statement also remarked how the duke was not a targeted interest in the Epstein criminal investigation and that his cooperation was voluntary.

In 2019, it was reported that Epstein committed suicide in a high security prison while awaiting trial on charges of trafficking minors.

His longtime associate Maxwell has pleaded not guilty in her alleged part in procuring teenage girls for Epstein’s sexual desire between 1994 and 2004.

She is expected to go on trial in November.
